How to Trade

The simple fundamental principle of profitable trading in financial markets is "buy low, sell high." One of the main functions of the Stellux mobile app platform is to provide users with broad opportunities to execute buy and sell operations. The "Trading" tab contains the trading account, as well as the current status of positions and pending orders. To switch to this tab, use the bottom panel of the application.

Account Status

The current status of the trading account is displayed at the top of the tab:

  • Profit, Currency ― Overall result of current trading positions and account deposit currency.

  • Balance ― Funds on the account, not considering the results of current positions (deposits).

  • Equity ― Equity is calculated as Balance + Credit - Commission +/- Floating Profit/Loss - Frozen.

  • Margin ― Funds required to be paid when opening positions and pending orders.

  • Free Margin ― Available funds that can be used to open positions. It is calculated as Equity - Margin. Depending on trading conditions (defined by the broker), equity may or may not consider: floating profit, floating loss, or both.

Positions

Current positions are displayed in this section. By default, only brief information about relevant positions is shown. To view more details, tap once on the position row.

  • Instrument ― Financial product corresponding to the position.

  • Type ― Position type: "Buy" ― Long, "Sell" ― Short.

  • Volume ― Volume of the trading operation (in lots). Minimum volume and its increment are limited by the broker, maximum value depends on deposit size.

  • Price ― Execution price, result of opening the position. If a position is the result of multiple executions, this field shows their weighted average price (Execution 1 price * Execution 1 volume + ... + Execution N price * Execution N volume) / (Execution 1 volume + ... + Execution N volume). The weighted average price is rounded to the precision equal to the number of decimal places in the instrument price plus three additional characters.

  • Price ― Current price of the financial instrument.

  • Profit ― Financial settlement of the execution, considering the current price. Positive value indicates profit, negative value indicates loss.
